Previous course code - HLTAID001
This course is for everyone with or without a current HLTAID009 certificate. All are encouraged to attend.
This course applies to a wide range of settings where emergencies involving cardiac arrest may occur. You will gain the knowledge and confidence to perform CPR on an adult, child and infant. It is especially relevant for people working in education, aged and community care, sport, travel and tourism, hospitality, industry enterprises and other workplace and community settings.
It is mandatory to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI Number) to attend this course
CERTIFICATES are issued by Rich River First Aid & sent to your personal Rich River First Aid Student Portal 3 - 8 days after completion of the course (they do not email them) CPR Certificates are valid for 12 months.
Course Content
This course provides the skills and knowledge to be able to handle
cardiac emergency situations. It includes:
+ Introduction to first aid principles
+ Assessing a cardiac emergency situation
+ Airway and breathing management
+ Performing chest compressions
+ Administering rescue breaths
+ Resuscitation techniques
+ Using a defibrillator (AED)
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
There are no prerequisite units
USI Number
Participants will receive an email containing the online registration & pre-course requirements prior to the course date, this must be completed before your course
Participants will need the ability to meet the physical demands of providing resuscitation.
Participants will also need oral communication skills to make an accurate verbal report to emergency services and workplace supervisor.
ASSESSMENT
Perform CPR on a manikin on the floor

Up Tempo Cafe is open on weekdays, food can be purchased from the Cafe Mon - Fri
Up Tempo Cafe is currently not open on weekends, please supply your own food/snacks on weekends. You can pop out during the lunch break to purchase food also.
