This course applies to a wide range of settings where emergencies involving cardiac arrest may occur. It is relevant for people working in education, aged and community care, sport, travel and tourism, hospitality, industry enterprises, in the home and other workplace and community settings.

  • It is mandatory to have a USI Number to attend this course

  • CERTIFICATES are issued by Rich River First Aid & sent to your personal Rich River First Aid Student Portal 3 - 8 days after completion of the course (they do not email them)

  • Cancelation policy requires you to give at least 24 hours notice prior to attending or no refund will be issued. If you reschedule more then twice you will be charged the full price again for your course.

  • Kneeling for 2 minutes on the floor to perform CPR is a mandated requirement. If you can not do this please do not book your course as you will not pass.

COURSE CONTENT

This course provides the skills and knowledge to be able to handle

cardiac emergency situations.

Topics include:

+ Introduction to first aid principles

+ Assessing a cardiac emergency situation

+ Airway and breathing management

+ Performing chest compressions

+ Administering rescue breaths

+ Resuscitation techniques

+ Using a defibrillator (AED)

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

There are no prerequisite units.

It is mandatory to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI Number) to attend this course

Participants will receive an email containing the online pre-course requirements prior to the course date, this must be completed before your course

Participants will need the ability to meet the physical demands of providing resuscitation.

Participants will also need oral communication skills to make an accurate verbal report to emergency services and workplace supervisor.

Certificates are issued by Rich River First Aid & sent to your personal Rich River First Aid Student Portal 3 - 8 days after completion of the course (they do not email them)
